Last year, sometime in October, I quit. Everything. I gave up a very high paying client roster, and set my sites on one thing: Cularis. The idea was born out of seeing an immediate need for more than just software - clients, businesses, people in general had too many fractured solutions that were always lacking in one way or another. If one was robust, it lacked support. If one had great support, it was bare bones in features - and so on.
My dream, as it stood, was to solve that problem with a new approach to web applications - namely content and e-commerce. There were common threads that could be tied together to provide a great service, great support, and even better reliability for everyone that needed it.
After the first true month of being in business (we actually went public with our applications May 1) my dream is slowly becoming a reality. We have 20 clients currently in development and several going live this week. The feedback has been tremendous and all comments and suggestions are considered - it's our clients that have actually steered the latest features into Store - and we love that approach. Everyone is involved.
So, although the dream is still in process, we are building on it every day. It's a dream that I still hold close to my heart and nurture 18 hours a day. (Although not asleep during that time.)
